Founded in 2018 within the Wake County Public School System, AFMS currently serves approximately 1,400 students each day in grades 6–8. As part of a multi-school campus alongside the Apex Friendship Elementary and High Schools, AFMS honors the legacy of the historic Friendship community.
At AFMS, we are guided by our five essential pillars: capturing kids’ hearts, cultivating social and emotional learning, sparking inquiry, fostering innovation, and focusing on growth. Students engage in rigorous, collaborative learning supported by data-driven instruction and social-emotional learning. With over 36 elective options—from coding and engineering to dance and pottery—AFMS nurtures an environment for creativity and innovation and offers a wide range of extracurricular opportunities for students.
Wake County Public School System will provide a relevant and engaging education and will graduate students who are collaborative, creative, effective communicators and critical thinkers.
